September/October Favourites.

So another set of months since my last favourites post and despite saying that I'm going to get back on track with my these kind of posts time just hasn't been on my side recently. So in a desperate attempt to get a routine going again I will be combining my September & October favourites, and keep my fingers crossed that I can get my act together so my November favourites doesn't make it's appearance in the new year.

Starting with the beauty bits, since September/October marked the beginning of Autumn, and a return to the slightly colder months I began to notice that the transitioning weather was really causing my skin to break out, at the same time I ran out of concealer. Which means I needed to invest in a new one, opting to try something different I finally tried NYX HD Studio Photogenic concealer. The main thing I love about this concealer is the coverage, boy oh boy that is some heavy duty stuff. A little really goes a long way with this concealer, so not only does it make it so long lasting and a great value for money it's also really buildable meaning that it will completely cover my under eye dark circles. The colour is really true to skin tone, I have mine in fair because my summer tan is long gone and my pasty winter complexion is here for the next few months. This concealer is £6.99 from Boots which I think is actually really good value for money considering it is so long lasting, I would thoroughly recommend trying this if you are looking for a strong coverage concealer to get you through the winter months.

Is it just me or is it that as soon as the leaves start falling from the trees you have a constant desire to have a bath? Nothing screams autumn more than a hot bath on a chilly evening and whilst I am a 100% Lush fan girl, sometimes it's nice to break away from convention and try some new products. My step mum went to New York at the end of summer and returned home with some goodies from Bath & Body Works, which is so renowned, but so hard to come by over here in England. She picked me up the Bath & Body Works 'Sleep' Bubble Bath & Body Moisturiser.  I am so obsessed with these products, especially the bubble bath, I have never felt so relaxed after a bath than I have using this product. They are enriched with Lavender and Chamomile so are designed to help relax you and enable you to drift off to sleep easier, and I can say first hand that they most definitely do the job. I am so sad that my bubble bath is officially run out because I don't know if I'll ever have such a relaxing bath experience again.

Is it really autumn without a pumpkin scented product? The Body Shop released their Pumpkin & Vanilla range just in time for Halloween and just like a typical basic witch bitch I swooned, despite being fickle for the halloween aesthetic I actually fell in love with two of the products; the Pumpkin & Vanilla Shower Gel & the Pumpkin & Vanilla Body Butter. Not only do both products smell insane they are both so nourishing and leave my skin feeling so soft after use which I think is an essential thing for this time of year. Both products are incredibly long lasting as well, especially the shower gel, I have been using it everyday since purchasing it at the beginning of October and it's not even half gone. I'm going to be really sad when these products run out and desperately hope they restock them next year.

That's it for the beauty bits, now it's on to the random bits and pieces, which are personally my favourite parts of any favourites post.

During September/October I saw my first scary film in the cinema, after seeing so much hype I felt seriously compelled to go and see IT. I was so impressed by the film, and also impressed with myself that I didn't run away screaming half way through. I thought the film was incredibly well made, the perfect amount of tension, jump scares and dark humour. The young cast were absolutely incredible. The standout performance was from Pennywise himself portrayed by the insanely gorgeous Bill Skarsgard. The character was insanely creepy and so manic that you couldn't take your eyes off him. I think it's safe to say it's up there with one of my favourite films of 2017 and I 100% can't wait for it to come out on DVD. This all coming from someone who has a big ol fear of clowns, so if I love it I guess that must be saying something.

Onto some tunes. September saw the release of BTS' new album 'Love Yourself: Her.' BTS are 100% my K-pop kryptonite, no matter how many groups & songs I listen to they always remain number one for me. So it's safe to say I had high hopes for this latest comeback and I'm so glad to say that I was not let down, there is not a single song on the album that I don't love and that is saying something for me. I mean I even purchased an actual copy of the album so it must be pretty damn good right? i love the sound of this album, it's similar to their other songs but also feels very unique. I love the bright colouring used in the DNA music video it was so cheerful & refreshing to see. My favourites from the album are Mic Drop, Serendipity, DNA & Best of Me.

Last up we have a book, now I have not done any reading for so long so I'm glad that I've found something that's captured my attention to allow me to get back into it. Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco. The book follows Audrey Rose Wadsworth a 17 year old who is fascinated by forensic medicine which at the time in 1888 would have been deemed incredibly inappropriate by society. They end up involved in analysing the bodies of the victims of Jack the Ripper unlocking facts and secrets which causes her to question everything and everyone she knows. The book itself is incredibly gripping, well detailed and gruesome in the best ways. As someone who finds things involving serial killers incredibly fascinating this book was definitely a winner for me. I can't wait to read Kerri's second book about Dracula next.

There we have my September/October Favourites, a random bunch as always. If you have any recommendations for me based on any of the things listed I would love to know.

What were your autumn favourites?
