The Soap Awards 2013.

Just putting it out there...I love watching soaps & love the soap awards, I enjoy watching it every year, I wouldn't really describe it as a guilty pleasure but I do love getting my Eastenders & Hollyoaks fix and watching them all compete against each other.

Now the soap awards has been described as a "poor mans bafta's" - not my words. But I especially enjoyed this years, I won't give away the winners because most likely if you cared you'd have watched it. I thought that some of the outfits this year were absolutely gorgeous so I thought i'd go all 'blogger' on the event and share my faves.

Natalie Gumede - Coronation Street .

I really don't watch Coronation Street so I can't pretend I know much about her or her character but she seemed to do pretty well awards wise which made me notice her dress. I love this dress! It is very flattering for her figure as well as not showing off to much skin making her legs stand out and look crazy long! I love the pattern of the dress and the colours used make it a statement dress and compliment her skin tone. Such a bold dress does not need bold accessories so the pairing of red heels & a red mini clutch works well alongside the dress rather than clashing with it.

Michelle Keegan - Coronation Street.

Michelle Keegan. Miss Sexiest female. I would have been very surprised if she hadn't won the title again (although part of me was slightly rooting for Jorgie Porter.) Honestly I'm not 100% convinced on the dress itself, I like the white colour and think the shape of the dress accentuates her fantastic figure but I'm not overly keen on the glitter/diamante detailing. That is of course my personal opinion and there is not denying she looks smoking nonetheless, for me her natural make up and glamorous hair complete the look.

Hetti Bywater - Eastenders

She plays one of Eastenders' most irritating characters: Lucy Beale, but there is nothing Market Stall about this outfit choice. The black dress is a formal classic and looks very elegant whilst the sheer panel slits add abit of sex appeal and makes the dress younger. This dress looks gorgeous on Hetti's tiny frame whilst giving the image of curves.

Jorgie Porter - Hollyoaks

I am a big fan of Jorgie Porter I think she is an absolutely stunning girl and this is clearly no exception. Despite the overbearing Grecian vibe coming from this look I must say I love the dress. With a plunging neckline & a slit up the leg you'd assume that it would look very slutty, and in fact it doesn't at all I think it actually looks very classy. The dress itself feels very simple, no embellishments in sight just a white dress cinched in with a gold belt & it looks wonderful. For me the hair and make up steal the show, I love the simple face make up with a smokey eye, it makes her eyes really stand out. Her lovely blonde hair is tied up with loose wave tendrils falling around her face. Beautiful.

Lucy Dixon - Hollyoaks

By far the most bold of the night, Lucy Dixon wows in a neon yellow gown. The high neck and floor length train gives a very covered up, classy look, and with colour like that to stand out you definitely don't need to be flashing skin. The colour goes well with her pale skin & fiery hair, despite thinking that it would make her look washed out and ill. I love everything about this look: the dress, the hair, the make up, even the clutch bag...I can't see her shoes but I'm sure I'd love them too.

Claire Cooper - Hollyoaks

Far from what we are used to seeing of Claire as Jaqui McQueen on Hollyoaks, she looks beautiful in this backless black and nude gown. The whole look is very glamorous, I especially like the hairstyle she is rocking.

Jessica Fox - Hollyoaks

My top look of the night comes from Jessica Fox known for playing Nancy Hayton/Osborne on Hollyoaks. There is not one part of this outfit I don't love. Starting with the dress I absolutely love the colour, very bold & summery and looks amazing next to Jessica's tanned skin. The shape of the dress is really what does it for me though. I love peplum, but floor length peplum is genius, it is so flattering and really defines her shape, the strapless sweet heart neckline is the perfect style. I love the accessories, the black and gold works really well alongside the colour of the dress. Huge fan of this look, and very much wishing I owned a dress like that.

I think its safe to say despite not winning 'Best Soap' the Hollyoaks ladies definitely cleared up in the fashion awards.
